A Control Strategy for Battery Energy Storage Systems Participating in Primary Frequency Control Considering the Disturbance Type

In power systems, various types of disturbances can randomly affect the active balance, which result in unexpected frequency changes. A battery energy storage system (BESS) is an effective technique to assist primary control. this work, a comprehensive self-adaptive strategy considering load disturbance proposed that enables BESS participation control grids. First, different are divided into two categories, namely, step and continuous small disturbance. Then, advantages virtual inertia droop taken full consideration. Model B match types. used rapidly prevent sudden changes under conditions without restricting state charge (SOC) BESS. Under disturbances, we further propose realized while SOC recovery. Compared with previous methods, presented approach significantly improves stability complicated changeable systems. Meanwhile, it fulfills requirements superior performance.
